Ok, here is the deal with the XBOX. I went to a conference on it at MSU. They released more information than ever at MSU, because it was the first stop of many to college campuses. The lowdown on this evil system is, that it is not even close to as powerful as my PS2. With the WIN32 kernel holding <1mb of RAM, and its limited hard drive space, you are going to constantly have to update the damn thing, just like windows. I wouldn’t be suprised to see that annoying blue screen everytime this eror prone machine is running. The libraries to the developers are updated each month, so you are gonna have to continuously wait for good games. The USB ports on the XBOX aren’t even standard, they are Microsoft products! It’s just another way for the morons at that company to make more cash. Bastards! Although the XBOX has signed some big name developers, like EA Sports, namco, and capcom, when asked about squaresoft, the answer given was “no comment.” The feel of the controllers are very awkward, which means DVD playback and game feel is going to be rough. Speaking of DVD, Microsoft is producing a remote for the system, but I have no doubts it will be full of bugs, like everything else. Bottom line, the PS2 is a better buy, with more capabilities, and better games. Microsoft is for dummies. When can I install linux? Oh, and by the way, I almost got slashdotted for this. We’ll see who gets there first, BuckeyeX or Moonkhan. Out.
